WHAT IS ERIN'S LAW

Erin’s Law is named after childhood sexual assault survivor, author, speaker and activist Erin Merryn, who is the founder and President of Erin’s Law, which is registered with the State of Illinois and the IRS as a 501 (c)(4) non-profit social welfare organization.

After Erin introduced the legislation in her home state of Illinois, the bill was named “Erin’s Law” after her by legislators and it has caught on nationwide.

“Erin’s Law” requires that all public schools in each state implement a prevention-oriented child sexual abuse program.

ERIN'S LAW PRESENTER-2017

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Erin’s Law, House Bill 6193 was signed by Governor Pat Quinn on January 24, 2013.  This law requires schools to implement an age-appropriate sexual assault and abuse awareness and prevention curriculum for grades pre-K through 12.

This program is designed to create an age-appropriate, safe and engaging environment where students will learn about the difference between safe and unsafe touch, and the importance of having trusted heroes.

Victor Pacini – Author and presenter delivered Phase 1 of this program to our Elementary Schools last year.  The response to this program was very favorable by staff and students alike.  We are happy to have Victor return again this year with this very important and difficult topic.  For more information about this presentation go to: www.victorpacini.com/peace-of-mind-2.
