ABOUT ME
I received a bachelor's degree in psychology from Loras College and a master's degree in school social work from Aurora University. I have worked in Iowa City schools for children with cognitive disabilities. I then spent a few years working as a classroom counselor in Naperville at a therapeutic day school for students with emotional and behavioral disabilities. I spent a year in Mundelein schools with a diverse low income population. In 2006, these experiences led me to Spring Grove Elementary. I love our students, families and staff. This is a home away from home. My goal is to help our students reach their full potential academically, emotionally and socially. I also help to provide parents with supports and linkage to community resources. I have my own children and understand the parenting challenges we all face and I am here to help. Please contact me if you have any concerns or need assistance at 815.678.6740 or cblack@nsd2.com.
